We rely on your impatience.

December 8, 2006

We rely on your impatience. Take this guy here for example. See him fidgeting and getting restless in line? He keeps checking his watch every 15-20 seconds like he’s in a huge hurry. He’s looking at our line, thinking if it’s worth it. After all, it’s only a couple of minutes right? Any second now he’s going to give up and come through our line. He’ll give us all his information. We’ll put his retinal scan, fingerprints, social security number, all of it. He’ll tell us anything we want to hear. All so he can shave a few minutes off the time he spends waiting to get through security.  We won’t do anything with it at first of course. That would be too obvious. Eventually though….

Look, here he comes now. He’s had enough. His impatience got the best of him.

This is how we start the new order. We just wait for you to get impatient and then you surrender your identity to us, where we can do absolutely whatever the fuck we want with it. And you can’t do shit about it.
