There’s a giant robot that destroys houses, and I’m in control.

November 29, 2006

There’s a giant robot that destroys houses, and I’m in control. I’m sitting in the cockpit and just knocking the hell out of everything. I bring up the arms and swing them down, smashing the trees. I slam the legs down and cause the water mains to burst. The little pissants under me run around screaming, terrified of the deaths they really deserve. Then the best part, the part I anticipate. I wind up the torso and bring both arms, full bore across the roof of her house. There she is, in her nightgown. Her husband is pinned to the bed, a beam from the wall straight through his chest, the blankets smoke and she is screaming bloody murder. She looks up and she realizes who it is. She sees the cold steel face and she knows. She never realized the full extent of my power until now.

I manipulate the joysticks and clear away the last of the wall in front of me. She’s given a choice. Be with me and live a life of happiness or be with me and live a life of despair and pain. It’s only right that both choices involve something she hates. Me.

The long arms coil out from the body and snake around her chest, squeezing until she can just barely expand her chest to breathe. I hold her up in front of the glass windshield and chuckle while she decides her answer. Me and life, or me and life with never-ending torment.

You might want to consider bringing your robot down here to New Orleans. You could make a fortune.
